So we've made it to the Restaurant Day Prague, August 18th 2013. Last time this event happened (May 18th 2013) I was in Kiev, waiting to get married and was thinking how cool would have been to be able to do this...well, hehe...getting married was also cool :)
So guess what ?? 2 months later, Restaurant Day happened again, and I made it there. I worked my ass like hell...baked for like 15 hours non stop ( and it was a hot hot day outside :P ), had friends helping me with design ideas, making price tags, boxes, wrapping paper, paper bags...had to think about a million things at the same time, and because of that couldn't sleep :) So that was fun.
Woke up at 6 on Sunday morning, baked some more, cut everything, packed everything, loaded in the van and ..Let's rock and roll.
At 10.30 am we were there, some other people as well...we put out the table (big beautiful white table, thanks to my sweet neighbor Danica), starting arranging the cakes, thinking about the layout, my hands were shaking cos of exhaustion, emotions and excitement.
First friends came very quick after that, to show their support, eat the cakes and give me a supportive thumbs up :)
There was even a lady from some radio, interviewing me ( MEEEE ??!!!! ) about what am I baking, why was I there, if I have a shop, if not..when will I have a shop :) Well, honestly can't remember what I answered :)) I just hope it wasn't anything stupid :)
So I think it was pretty nice, successful, cakes were gone so fast, that many friends that came later on didn't even get to see how the table looked like. They just found some leftovers, and had to settle with that :).
It is fun to go to such events, and I think people should do it even if they don't have my intentions (of starting a business) but just to have fun being a restaurant for a day. It brings a lot of satisfaction seeing people queuing for your yummy goods.
Here are my amazing girls that helped me create the design :)
What is happening now ? Well, I am getting slowly more orders, customers are kind of poping up here and there, some of them are friends, some are just random people, but...yeah more of them are my friends, which I am very happy to be my friend's provider of bread & cakes.
