Taste them...Love them. Couquettes

Learn to love Chouqettes. Learn to snack on Chouquettes.

Petite Prague Chouquettes

I know I know...they are not very much available in Prague, and where they are ...are soooooo $$$$.
However, not for long...because this will be changed. I will make them available, and at the most reasonable prices. As they should be. They are a snack, a break, a little something to nibble on your way to work, or from work...
Parisians are very keen on the chouquettes, also because they dine pretty late, and once the hunger kicks in...you temper it with a little snack, they will visit their local pâtisserie and get a bag of chouquettes.

Chouquettes are nothing else but cream puffs covered with crunchy nuggets of sugar (which will not melt in the oven), then baked until golden-brown.

The savory version of  the cream puffs is called gougere, and it comes like a plain choux dough and before baking you spread grated cheese on top of the puffs. It comes out delicious, tasty...It looks like this :

Gougeres

So...I did my first chouquettes, and they turned out yummy yummy yummy. Of course, I need to learn something from my first experience, like temperature must be high, it must stay in the oven for at least 20 minutes, line the baking sheet twice with parchment paper, as they might get burned on the bottom.
Well, I am so happy I made them, and they are easy to be done, so quick and so tasty.

Therefore...Chouquettes, coming soon @ Petite Prague Bakery :)
